Latest Updates from Our Project:

It all happened so fast! 50K Goal Unlocked!
about 5 years ago – Fri, Jan 08, 2021 at 02:43:53 AM

Thank you all so much. You have all unlocked Cursed Tattoos for the book (this one was heavily thought up and requested by the community, so honestly, this is a great achievement by all of you)

I don't think we've ever raised so many funds on a single day. This is a good sign, right?

I'm happy to report we're still hard at work. And of course, that means sneak peeks are in order ;)

Kind of looks like the inside of a tattoo parlour coming together...

Recently, there's been an avalanche of messages and I'm just so grateful to hear from all of you who believe in the project and are invested in making sure it will be the best it can be. I promise I will do my best to get back to all of you when I can!

Don't forget the Social Stretch Goals below which are going great! ↓

Until next time!

Hi everyone!

I know a lot of you have heard of BackerKit and I have recently decided to partner with them for the last leg of this project! For those that don't know, BackerKit is an awesome group of folks who (among other things) will help ensure that our post-campaign fulfillment and surveys go much smoother!

Hope this is good news for a lot of people!

Also, the Social Stretch Goals are going quite well ↓

Onwards and upwards! + Hardcover Explanation
about 5 years ago – Wed, Jan 06, 2021 at 10:10:04 PM

Hi folks,

This is just a quick update to help with explaining the hardcover reward tiers (excluding the "super backer" and "mega/creative" backer tiers).

First, let me explain exactly how it works! Put simply, the pledge you make for a hardback version of the book covers production costs and the perks of the tier you've selected. This means when you pledge, you are primarily paying for the work the creative team is doing (artists and writers).

This means that as mentioned in both the campaign description and in the reward tier box, you are paying for hardback printing and shipping afterwards. This is different from some campaigns you might have pledged to where your pledge might cover production, printing and shipping and were noticeably much higher!

Printing can be anywhere from 15-25 USD depending on the number of pages we end up with. That's now looking at anything between 200-300 pages. You can find the DTRPG calculator here, and you want to choose the Hardcover/Large options.

A potential shipping costs chart from DTRPG can be found here.

Now why did we do it this way?

Put simply, this was a way to cut costs all around. DTRPG is a trusted and reliable printer of tabletop RPG literature and products, so we are able to leave the printing and shipping to the experts and focus completely on creating a fantastic book for all of you. This also means that any and all costs we would have incurred from storing, printing, and shipping the books out ourselves are minimized and we are able to save both you, the backers, and us, the creators, a lot of money.

I am incredibly thrilled that there is so much interest in this book and I promise we are working hard to make it the best book it can possibly be. However, I am also concerned with the recent questions I've been receiving. Please, please, do not pledge more than you need to! This is the main reason we created a thrift tier, which is basically just a cheaper alternative to our lowest reward tier (nothing is taken away from you for opting for that tier at all). We want everyone to have access to this great book but we don't want to hurt your wallets in the least - that's not why we do this. We will look into any way to drop the hardcover costs even further short of taking money away from the wonderful creatives pouring their time into the project.

Hopefully, this clears up a lot of things for all of you, but as always, I am happy to answer any questions you have!

Cheers,

Karl

Wait! 40K!?
about 5 years ago – Mon, Jan 04, 2021 at 10:49:47 PM

The project has officially hit $40,000 and that means we have unlocked a whole new section in the book for tattoo sets! You'll be surprised by the potent effects combining three different tattoos can have... I know it's a major sacrifice forgoing magic items completely and using those precious slots up just for tats, so I figured it might be fun to make it worth your while!

Once again, I am very grateful for your continued support. Please keep sharing the project on your platforms and to other DM's and players who might be interested! We still have more than a few days to go!

Small updates:

  • I am constantly looking over all the wonderful tales in update #11 and you will be contacted before the book is finished should your character be selected for illustration. Keep the stories coming!
  • There's an awesome campaign going on over at Epic Battlemaps for gorgeous physical maps that fold out, combine, and tell a complete story (among other things)! Please check them out if you have the chance! For players who love playing in-person, and with the opportunity for that happening coming right over the horizon, this will undoubtedly be a pledge you would not regret.

Lastly, don't forget to click through the social stretch goals below if you haven't already ↓

Until next time!

about 5 years ago – Sat, Jan 02, 2021 at 11:24:28 PM

I've really been loving the stories we are seeing on our latest update, please keep them coming!

Okay, so I've been really excited about these for a while but I had to get a few things sorted first (like figuring out whether it was feasible to create multiple listings available for the book cover - it is!). Most of these are so close to being finished so the main thing is seeing how many we can get to! These are our Social Stretch Goals - alternate covers you will be able to select from before print. Some of you awesome folks may not want to follow us on any social media platforms, and that's okay! These goals are completely optional. Of course, we'd love to have you on our social media because it'll be how we keep in touch with everybody regarding this and future projects! Anyways, here we go:

Text, logos, and details are still getting cleaned up but It's okay to get a good look at the work-in-progress! And yes, you read correctly, regardless of whether we hit the $60K mark, the corresponding Deity Tattoo to the covers will be unlocked!

That's all for now!
